Two Arrested After Assault On TriMet MAX Train Spills Into Downtown Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Two people were taken into custody Tuesday morning after an assault that began on a TriMet MAX train and continued onto a downtown Portland sidewalk, leaving one man seriously injured, authorities said.

Detectives with TriMet’s Transit Police, led by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, are investigating the incident, which unfolded around 10:20 a.m. near Southwest 5th Avenue and Southwest Madison Street.
