BEAVERTON, Ore. — KGW viewers and members of the community have raised thousands of dollars for a single mother on the brink of homelessness in Beaverton.
On Wednesday, KGW shared the story of Faith Morrow, a single mother who was served an eviction notice after falling behind on rent. Morrow lives off food stamps and a $432 government assistance stipend. It’s not nearly enough to get by alone, she said, and she recently developed health complications which have made it difficult to hold a job.
“Right after I had her, I fell very, very ill with hypoxia,” Morrow said, referring to her baby. “I can’t even get through the day without having to lay down to just keep my vitals and my breathing at a safe level.”…
