Downtown Portland Parking-Lot Brawl Erupts in Pre-Dawn Gunfire

A late-night fight in a downtown Portland parking lot turned into a shooting early Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, leaving one man wounded and sending crowds running through nearby streets, police said.

The clash broke out in a lot off Harvey Milk Street between 3rd and 4th avenues just before bar-closing time and quickly escalated. According to Portland police, the shooting was reported at about 2:40 a.m., multiple rounds were fired, and several vehicles in the lot were hit.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound at the scene. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, and no deaths were reported. The early-morning chaos and injury were first detailed by KATU.
