PHOTOS: 3 sent to hospital after firefighter rescue of overturned car in Vancouver crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Three people were sent to the hospital after they were successfully rescued from an overturned vehicle following a car crash in Vancouver on Friday.

Just before 2:30 p.m., Vancouver firefighters responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Northeast 117th Avenue and Northeast 87th Street.

When crews arrived, they found that the crash had involved two vehicles: a truck and an SUV. One of the vehicles had been turned on its side, with people trapped inside.

“Firefighters quickly initiated extrication procedures, removing the roof of the vehicle using specialized hydraulic rescue tools while simultaneously providing patient care,” the Vancouver Fire Department said in a press release.

The three people rescued from the vehicle were taken to local hospitals by ambulance with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries…
