Girl, 13, took part in theft of family car with 3 others before police chase: Gresham PD

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 13-year-old girl allegedly took part in a plan to steal her family’s car, joining three others in a police chase that spanned from Gresham into Portland before everyone involved was arrested on Saturday night, authorities said.

The girl was with family members at Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Gresham near Northeast Stark Street and Northeast Hogan Street, the Gresham Police Department said.

The family member who reported the stolen car – the girl’s grandparent – did not know she was part of the plan to steal it, believing the girl had been kidnapped.

“There was a pursuit of the vehicle from Gresham into Portland.  Several Portland, Gresham and Multnomah County units assisted in the pursuit, including PPB Air Support. The vehicle was spiked in the pursuit and boxed in on I-84 until the vehicle stopped,” a spokesperson for the Gresham Police Department told KOIN 6 News…
