Richmond Block on Lockdown as Cops Nab Trailer-Hiding Suspect in Teen’s Killing

Portland police arrested a man early Saturday after an hours-long block search through the Richmond neighborhood, ending a tense overnight manhunt linked to the 2025 killing of a 14-year-old boy. Neighbors were told to shelter in place while officers swept yards, flew drones, and brought in K-9 units before finally finding the suspect in a trailer parked in a driveway shortly after 6:30 a.m.

In a press release, the Portland Police Bureau said patrol officers led the search in Richmond and that the suspect is now in custody on a first-degree murder charge along with several others. Detectives remained on scene through the morning as follow-up work continued.

How the Search Played Out

According to local reporting, officers forced their way into a home near Southeast 38th Avenue and Southeast Ivon Street after believing someone inside was in danger. A suspect then jumped from a second-story window and bolted into the neighborhood, triggering an intensive search, as reported by KPTV.

Police set up a perimeter from Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard to Southeast 37th Avenue and methodically worked through the area with drones and K-9 teams. The search wrapped shortly after 6:30 a.m., when officers found the suspect hiding in a trailer in a driveway, according to KPTV. An assault victim was found at the residence and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the station reported.

Police say the arrest is tied to a Nov. 16, 2025, shooting in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood that killed 14-year-old Marik Roscoe. The Portland Police Bureau previously identified Roscoe and said in a Nov. 16 statement that the Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide by gunshot…
