Child in the hospital after being hit by car near Moda Center; MAX lines briefly shut down

PORTLAND, Oregon — A child was struck by a car near Moda Center on Sunday afternoon, prompting bystanders to perform CPR before firefighters arrived, according to Portland Fire & Rescue. The collision shut down MAX Orange and Yellow line service for roughly three hours.

The crash occurred near North Multnomah Street and North Interstate Avenue at approximately 3:22 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the child was breathing. A Portland Fire & Rescue engine crew rode with AMR ambulance to the hospital, the agency said to KGW.
