Woodland man arrested in death of Vancouver woman found on state forest land in eastern Clark County

An investigation into a suspicious death in Clark County has led to a Woodland man being arrested after investigators found signs of foul play in his home after a search warrant was served on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) began the investigation after a 34-year-old Vancouver woman’s body was found on state forest land in eastern Clark County in February.

CCSO deputies and detectives responded to a deceased female located on state forest land near the DNR-1100 Road in eastern Clark County on Feb. 14. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office, determined the death was suspicious. Specific details of the death are not being released at this time, according to a news release by CCSO. Two days later, on Feb. 16, a family member reported that 34-year-old Tori Garza had not been heard from.
