Prized painting returned to Portland art gallery after being found on freeway

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A prized painting that flew off a car on a busy Portland highway is back on display — after what its owner calls a real-life treasure hunt.

Marcia Kahn, director of the newly opened River Art Gallery in Old Town, had just acquired the work by artist Jasper York when it accidentally flew off her vehicle along U.S. Highway 26 between Cedar Hills Boulevard and Murray Boulevard.
