Many drive-by shooting cases go unsolved, but outstanding work by the Portland Police Bureau investigating a shots-fired incident that took place in the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek neighborhood, on Monday morning, February 16th, ended with a suspect in custody and a gun recovered, within just a few hours.
The shots were fired just a block away from Ardenwald Elementary School – which, fortunately, had been closed at the time in observance of Presidents’ Day.
The crime scene address was S.E. VanWater Street at 36th Avenue, and Central Precinct officers were dispatched there at 11:20 a.m. Soon, 18 police cruisers were parked nearby…
