Historic Oregon City courthouse faces demolition soon. Here’s what will replace it

Demolition will begin soon on the old Clackamas County Courthouse in downtown Oregon City to make way for a new five-story housing and retail project.

On Feb. 13, the county finalized the sale of the 1936 courthouse to Level Development NW for $100,000. The developer was the only company to respond to the county’s request for bids on redevelopment of the site at 807 Main St.

Level Development NW plans to demolish the courthouse and build an 84‑unit apartment complex with 2,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The new 83,000‑square‑foot building will include market‑rate apartments (mostly studios and one‑bedrooms), underground parking for 48 vehicles, and additional off‑street parking for a total of about 75 spaces…
