PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A dangerous drug combination is resurfacing on Portland’s streets, and treatment providers say it’s becoming more common.
“It’s a goofball,” that’s the term Solara Salazar, the Executive Director of the Cielo Treatment Center, says is being used again. She says “goofball” is a mix of methamphetamine and fentanyl, a combination that significantly increases the risk of overdose.
Salazar says her team has seen a sharp rise in people using multiple substances at the same time, especially meth and fentanyl. A spokesperson for Portland Solutions says they are seeing people using a mix of benzodiazepines and fentanyl…
