Portland man sentenced to federal prison for arson at ICE building

A 34-year-old man was sentenced Thursday to a year and a half in federal prison for throwing a flare onto flammable debris piled against the front gate of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland.

Trenten Edward Barker of Portland pleaded guilty earlier to one count of arson of a federal building.

On June 11, he stood in the driveway of the ICE building, removed the flare from his backpack, lit it and threw it toward the driveway gate just before 10 p.m…
