Morning Inferno Scorches Beaverton Apartments On NW Cornell Road

A fast-moving apartment fire lit up a Beaverton complex Friday morning, sending flames tearing through the back of a building on NW Cornell Road and into multiple units before firefighters got it under control. Crews moved quickly to box in the blaze, and authorities say everyone walked away without injuries as the scene shifted from emergency response to cleanup.

According to KPTV, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched just before 9 a.m. after a resident reported a building on fire. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire ripping from the back of one building and quickly bumped the response to a second alarm, the outlet reported. The blaze damaged a stairwell and compromised the integrity of floors inside the affected building.
