Pre-Dawn Hillsboro Fight Ends In Stabbing, Two Juveniles Nabbed

An early-morning fight in Hillsboro turned into a crime scene after an adult man was found with stab wounds near NE 53rd Avenue and NE Elam Young Parkway. Two juveniles were taken into custody, and the injured man was rushed to a hospital. Police have not released his condition. Officers locked down the area while investigators started knocking on doors and combing nearby streets for witnesses and evidence.

Around 5:30 a.m. on March 5, police responded to reports of a disturbance in the area and arrived to find the man stabbed, according to KPTV. The outlet reports that two juveniles were arrested at the scene and taken into custody. KPTV also notes that police have not yet released the suspects’ names, ages, or the specific charges they could face.

Police Ask Neighborhood To Help Track Down Gray Backpack

In a Facebook update, the Hillsboro Police Department asked residents in the Sunset Downs subdivision in the Sewell East neighborhood to keep an eye out for a gray backpack investigators believe was discarded in the area. Anyone who finds it is urged to call the non-emergency tip line at 503-629-0111. Police also stressed that there is no ongoing danger to the public while the investigation continues.

So far, investigators are keeping a tight lid on details. Aside from confirming the arrests and the victim’s hospitalization, police have said little as detectives work to interview witnesses and collect evidence, KPTV reported. Authorities have not described any possible motive or identified the weapon used in the stabbing. Officers are asking anyone with information or video from the area around the time of the fight to contact them.
