PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Fired bureau directors are leaving Portland with hundreds of thousands of dollars in severance payments, as the city stares down another massive budget hole in the upcoming fiscal year.
The payments alarm at least one Portland city councilor, who told KATU the city is leaning on employment contracts and severance agreements in place of properly managing leadership.
