Portland Fire & Rescue crews were called around 1 a.m. to the Elephants Delicatessen on Northwest 22nd, where they found flames had spread from outside the building into the roof of the nearly 7-thousand-square-foot structure.
Portland Fire’s Rick Graves says the structural integrity of the roof came under question.
“(There was) concern that the roof has become so weak as a result of fire integument and cuts being made by crews to gain access to the fire,” Graves said…
