Search crews face wind, rain to find hikers lost in Columbia Gorge during overnight rescue

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KATU) — Search and rescue crews helped find two missing hikers in the Columbia River Gorge overnight Tuesday, facing heavy rain and wind gusts throughout the search.

The two hikers set out from Horsetail Falls at about noon on Tuesday, and called 9-1-1 at about 7:45 p.m. after they ended up getting lost.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue team responded, mapping their rough location after contacting them over the phone…
