CANBY, Ore. — A Canby High School student died Friday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Clackamas County, authorities said. The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital.
The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Chevy Coburn, a 17-year-old junior at Canby High School. Coburn’s family started a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses.
“He gave his love and warmth completely to those around him, and he was quick to smile and joke about anything and everything,” Coburn’s aunt wrote on GoFundMe. “He was bright and motivated and was so excited for life, both in the present and for the future. He really was amazing in every way.”
