A Gresham High junior who has overcome some unimaginable challenges this past year had a beaming smile as he was surrounded by thousands of his new friends and supporters.
The spotlight shone on Tucker Santillanes Monday morning, March 16, as he returned to David Douglas High School for the official end of the 2025/26 Scots Angels campaign. That annual event has the neighboring school district “adopt” someone in need of some extra love and financial boost.
Tucker was the perfect fit. He suffered a serious spinal cord injury last fall while playing football against David Douglas. That led to emergency surgeries, a long stay at the hospital, ongoing rehabilitation and therapy, and a whole bunch of daunting medical bills…
