Bomb unit investigates after man arrested, suspicious device found at Portland MAX station

PORTLAND, Ore. — Transit police arrested a man Tuesday morning at the Interstate MAX Station at the Rose Quarter and after searching him found a suspicious device, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office confirmed shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The Metro Explosive Device Unit is on scene investigating.

KGW reporter Devon Haskins, who is at the scene, reported at 10:15 a.m. that authorities removed the suspicious device and are taking down the surrounding tape. The device was not detonated at the scene, and its nature remains unknown…
