Portland man convicted of murder and arson, faces life sentence for woman’s 2024 death

PORTLAND, Ore. — A jury found a Portland man guilty of murdering a woman two years ago and hiding her body in a shed before setting it on fire, the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office said on Tuesday.

Bobby Lee Alsup, 33, was convicted of killing 31-year-old Kaley Ann Snow at her home on Southeast Flavel Drive on March 17, 2024. He hit Snow twice in the head with a hammer, then wrapped her body in a blanket and left her in a shed on the property. Alsup returned to the house on March 21 and used gasoline as an accelerant to set the shed on fire. Investigators found Snow’s body and ruled her death a homicide.

A few weeks before Snow’s murder, Alsup began to rent a room inside the house. After the killing, he started taking items from the home and selling them online, the district attorney’s office said. Alsup also took steps to try to cover up Snow’s death, prosecutors said, like texting her to establish an alibi and cleaning the hammer to destroy DNA evidence…
