‘He was going paralyzed’: Vancouver man awarded $10M after waiting 17 hours in ER, worsening condition

VANCOUVER, Wash. — John Douglas Cox, 66, says his life was forever changed in 2021 after a delay in care at a local emergency room.

His lawyer, Jane Paulson, told KGW that Cox waited 17 hours before receiving proper treatment.

“At its core, this case is about time,” Paulson said. “When someone comes into the emergency room with new-onset paralysis, every hour matters.”…
