PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — At a gym in Vancouver, the World’s Strongest Man of 2019 is training to win the title for a second time — an event he says may be his last competition.
Martins Licis, also known as “The Dragon,” is a Latvian-American strongman who is based in Los Angeles. He has pulled airplanes, firetrucks, buses, plus a 16-ton full-scale replica of the largest Viking ship ever discovered.
Right before his 2019 win, he also came in second for the Arnold Strongman Classic.

Now at 35, Licis is past the average age for men in those competitions, which is late 20’s to early 30’s. But he told KOIN 6 News he’s not going to let age weigh on him…
