PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Salsa dancing and Mexican eats are returning to a beloved corner of the Irvington neighborhood.
Located on 1501 NE Broadway, the spot formerly known as Aztec Willie’s Taqueria will soon reopen under a fresh, but familiar name: Aztec on Broadway. The longtime family-run business shuttered late last summer, telling customers it had attempted “everything” to continue operating.
“And while we made it farther than we ever thought possible, the time has come to say goodbye,” the business wrote in September. “It’s a heartbreaking moment for our family, who has poured our hearts and lives into this place, and for the staff — past and present — who have stood by us through it all…
