PORTLAND, OR – Portland police seized three firearms and towed two vehicles early Monday after intervening in a street takeover event near the Lloyd Center that drew up to 100 people.
Officers were alerted to potential takeovers at two locations around midnight on March 23: Northeast 158th Avenue and Northeast Airport Way, and Northeast 13th Avenue and Northeast Multnomah Street. While participants at the first location dispersed as police arrived, a large crowd remained at the intersection near the Lloyd Center.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, approximately 50 to 100 individuals occupied the intersection while multiple vehicles lined the surrounding streets. After gathering sufficient resources, law enforcement moved in at approximately 12:50 a.m. to disperse the crowd and stop illegal activity…
