PORTLAND, Ore. — A Montessori school in Portland suddenly closed its doors this month after many staff members resigned on the same day, leaving families scrambling to find new schools for their young children.
Busy Hands Montessori officially shut down on March 14, one day after multiple educators left their positions. Busy Hands owner Jessica Gowans told families in a March 14 email that the closure was a “shock” to her and that a “mass resignation” of staff left her no choice but to close immediately.
