NEWPORT, Ore. (KPTV) – A Portland man is accused of firing a handgun inside a condo, then barricading himself for hours before being arrested early Saturday morning, according to the Newport Police Department.
Just before 1:30 a.m., on March 21, authorities responded to 1000 Southeast Bay Boulevard after it was reported that an intoxicated man, identified by police as 44-year-old Johnson Rin, had made threats towards family members, then fired a handgun inside the condo. The family was able to escape and call for help.
Police said they learned Rin had fired the gun twice, once into the ceiling where guests were sleeping in a nearby room and once into a closet door…
