Climbers at Smith Rock rescued after ropes stopped 400 feet above ground

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Two rock climbers at Smith Rock State Park were rescued Monday after getting stuck on a ledge that was nearly 400 feet above the ground, according to deputies.

Rescue teams responded to the park around 8 p.m. after the climbers, both in their late 20s, got stuck while descending the west side of the park known as “Wherever I May Roam.”
