Man with history of assaults arrested after racially charged attack at Portland market

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A homeless man with a history of mental illness was arrested after shouting racial slurs and threatening people with a hammer, according to authorities.

According to court documents, police were called to Pete’s Market at Southwest Fourth Avenue and Washington Street on Tuesday.
