A member of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deserves some extra treats and head scratches after she successfully sniffed out her first firearm while on duty.
Police dog Saar and her handler, Deputy Rogers, assisted the Portland Police Bureau during an incident on Sunday, March 15, in which a suspect was seen fleeing the scene of a car crash armed with a firearm.
The crash occurred near Southeast 57th Avenue and Southeast Carlton Street. While the suspect was arrested by Portland officers after striking a parked vehicle, they needed assistance finding the gun. That is where the K9 unit came in handy…
