Sky-high Portland restaurant hangs onto skyscraper lease

Portland City Grill will keep its place in Oregon’s largest office tower for another five years under a lease renewal, owners said Thursday.

Swickard Group, which owns U.S. Bancorp Tower, said the City Grill lease reaffirms the restaurant’s “long-standing presence in downtown Portland.” The restaurant has been a standby in the tower known as Big Pink since 2002.

On floor 30, the restaurant is among Portland’s most elevated dining establishments. Chart House, at 5700 S.W. Terwilliger Blvd. and about 500 feet of hillside elevation, gives similarly soaring views from a decidedly more grounded perspective…
