PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — More than a week after several “unprovoked attacks” occurred in a Southeast Portland neighborhood, a suspect has been arrested.
Anthony Richardson is being held in the Multnomah County Detention Center in connection to charges of second-degree attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Portland Police Bureau. The agency said the arrest comes after investigators identified the 51-year-old man as the suspect of several violent encounters in the Hazelwood neighborhood earlier this month.

PPB alleged East Precinct officers responded to reports of a man assaulting two women near an apartment complex in the 12300 block of Southeast Ash Street on Tuesday, March 17, just before midnight. Authorities said the suspect then confronted another group of people before grabbing a firearm from his residence and firing multiple rounds at them on Ash Street, where the group fled with no injuries.
According to officials, investigators later identified Richardson as a suspect and learned he intentionally targeted several people and had threatened police as well.
PPB revealed Richardson was arrested at his apartment at 5 a.m. on Friday, when the Enhanced Community Safety Team and Special Emergency Reaction Team conducted a search warrant.
