Firefighters in southeast Portland knocked down an exterior fire Saturday near the 4700 block of SE 24th Avenue, after flames breached an outer wall but were met by a working sprinkler system that kept the blaze in check while crews moved in from outside, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.
