Early-Morning Portland Blaze Snuffed Out, Firefighters Find Empty Building

An early-morning structure fire in Portland gave firefighters a fast start to the workweek Monday, but crews quickly knocked down the main body of the blaze and found no one inside, according to a brief update from the city’s fire bureau.

In a status post shared while crews were still on scene, Portland Fire & Rescue reported that the primary search of the building turned up no occupants. The bureau did not release the exact location of the incident or any information about possible injuries.
