Since last fall, small mosaic art pieces have been mysteriously appearing in sidewalk cracks across the Portland area.
The artists call themselves the Portland Tile Guerrillas, and so far they have installed dozens of hand‑cut, slip‑resistant tile artworks across Portland, Milwaukie and Oregon City.
Their project, called Fill the Void, began Nov. 22 with a small, geometric tile installation beneath the municipal elevator in Oregon City. Soon, more mosaics cropped up in downtown Milwaukie and Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood…
