Search for missing teen in decades-old case near Yacolt campground turns up empty

CLARK COUNTY Wash. (KPTV) – A tip in a decades-old case turned up nothing Saturday after the Clark County Sheriff’s Office searched for Jamie Grissim’s remains near the Rock Creek Campground in Yacolt.

Grissim was 16 years old when she disappeared on Dec. 7, 1971, while walking home from Fort Vancouver High School. Investigators believe she is a victim of convicted serial killer Warren Forrest, who made that area his “hunting ground.”

Doug Maas, who worked the case in the 1970s, said they recently talked to a man who told them to look by the Dole Valley Bridge. The witness said he saw a dead young woman there around the time Grissim vanished. The bridge is also just a couple of miles from where law enforcement found Grissim’s high school ID in the spring of 1972…
