PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Standing tall along the Oregon Coast, the Astoria Column announces its 100th anniversary celebration.
This summer, the column will celebrate its historic century-old milestone with a celebration of exhibits, vendors, and entertainment on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in downtown Astoria.
Thompson Elk Statue officially returns to downtown Portland
The 125-foot-tall column was completed in 1926. It commemorates the founding of Astoria, the oldest permanent United States settlement west of the Rocky Mountains.
