Campus Safety warns of armed carjacking near campus

In an April 10 email sent to the campus community at 7:32 p.m., Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Management Michael McNerney warned of an armed carjacking approximately four blocks from campus.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. the same day, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) responded to a report of the incident at the intersection of North Princeton Street and North Portsmouth Avenue, according to the email.

The suspect is believed to be a male of “average height” who was wearing a ski mask at the time of the incident. He was last seen in the stolen white Lexus sedan traveling eastbound on North Willamette Boulevard, according to an email from McNerney to The Beacon…
