It didn’t seem unusual for Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Central Precinct officers to be dispatched to an injury accident on Monday, March 9 – but the first-arriving officers may have surprised to see Milwaukie Police Department squad cars and officers already there, at S.E. McLoughlin Boulevard at Harold Street in north Westmoreland.
The dispatch was at 11:41 a.m., and not long afterward one badly smashed gray BMW, immobilized in the intersection, was being loaded onto a flatbed tow truck.
