Community ‘shocked’ after learning of Vancouver high school student’s death

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An investigation continues into the shootings that killed one teen and left two others injured in Vancouver Monday night.

The Evergreen School District confirmed to KOIN 6 News that Mountain View High School families were told a student died this week, but did not say how.

One 16-year old is dead after a fight turned into a shooting Monday night in a Vancouver parking lot near Northeast 18th St and Andresen Road. The fight was between two groups of kids according to Vancouver Police, and left two other teens with injuries.

A 17-year-old was found near the scene and taken into custody for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. But no other arrests have been made and the investigation into the person responsible for the shootings is still ongoing…
