One employee dead, another injured after chairlift incident at Ski Bowl

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person is dead, and another is injured after a chairlift accident at Ski Bowl on Mt. Hood Thursday morning.

According to Hoodland Fire, two employees were in a maintenance basket at around 9:30 a.m. when it fell, dropping them into rugged terrain.

“I couldn’t tell you a distance or where exactly it was located,” Hoodland Fire Chief Scott Kline told KOIN 6 News. “I know our crews had to hike into the area to assess and treat patients, and then they had to move them down to a waiting helicopter.”…
