PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A contractor was injured after falling 20 feet into a wastewater treatment tank on Tuesday, Vancouver Fire Department announced.
Around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, crews from the Camas-Washougal Fire Department responded to a report of a 36-year-old man who fell into a tank that was under construction at the Washougal Wastewater Treatment Facility. Officials said the man is an employee of a private contractor working on the site.
Crews used advanced technical rescue techniques to safely extricate the man with a vertical haul system — raising him about 25 feet from the tank floor to the roof level.
