PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The owner of a North Portland scrapyard has been ordered to hand over control of the property.
NW Metals, located at 8140 N. Commercial Ave. in Portland, will be surrendered to a court-appointed trustee who will allow access for environmental assessments, according to an order filed by a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge on April 29.

“This order means the people living near this scrapyard will finally get answers about what’s been happening on that property, and it means there are real consequences for ignoring the rules,” Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield said in a statement.
