Portland City Council questions shelter oversight as nonprofit faces serious allegations

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Portland city councilors are seeking more information from administrators about how the city’s shelter oversight systems are working.

The request comes after a new report found the nonprofit Urban Alchemy, which manages several shelters in Portland, faces allegations including drug dealing, drug use, theft, and sexual violence.
