PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland City Council is heading into a pivotal stretch of budget negotiations as councilors work to reshape Mayor Wilson’s proposed spending plan and close a nearly $170 million gap.
Councilors have spent the week drafting amendments to the mayor’s budget, which suggested cutting nearly 150 jobs and reducing funding across areas ranging from public safety to homelessness programs.
