PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Neighbors and homeless advocates in Multnomah Village rallied Sunday, May 17 outside SAGE Flowers to oppose Mayor Keith Wilson’s proposal to convert the Multnomah Safe Rest Village into a high-barrier recovery center, arguing the change could displace vulnerable residents and comes as the city’s shelter operator, Urban Alchemy, faces growing scrutiny.
The rally took place around noon at 7807 Southwest Capitol Highway in Portland.
