Major Business Group Sounding Alarm Over City Hall Budget Changes

The Portland Metro Chamber says it opposes some City Hall budget amendments announced last Friday to eliminate funding for downtown events and marketing programs used to boost foot traffic post-pandemic. Specifically, the Portland Metro Chamber is pushing back against amendments to cut funding for downtown event programs credited with bringing visitors and spending back to the city core.

Chamber President and CEO Andrew Hoan say residents are not getting a chance to respond.
