East Greenwich dethrones Barrington for boys tennis state title

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A new boys tennis state champion was crowned on Sunday afternoon.

After falling short last season, East Greenwich redeemed itself to earn the school’s first Division I title, taking down the two-time reigning state champions, Barrington, 4-1 on Sunday.

“It means so much, senior captain Henry Seeley said. “We’ve been working all season. Last season, we came short, but we came here today looking to prove that we belong in Division I.”…
