Johnston passes FY2027 budget that promises ‘tax relief’ for homeowners

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena said that the Fiscal Year 2027 budget was unanimously passed by the town council.

Polisena said that “most” homeowners would see a lower tax bills as part of the budget, due to a decrease on the residential tax levy from $45.4 million to $43.4 million.

This would seem the median home seeing a $196 reduction in their property tax bill…
